Technology Overview

Installed into the suction port(s) using a refrigerant oil pump (photo) while the system is running, CRYOGENX4 requires no modifications or alterations to the system.

Efficiency gains are accomplished by addressing the main factors of thermal performance drop-offs including thermal transfer degradation from oil film buildup, internal lubrication and friction issues, increased metallic wear and tear, high operating temperatures and pressures, as well as increased run time. CRYOGENX4 is compatible with all types of refrigerants (including new low Global Warming Potential versions) and compressor oils. Once allowed time to fully “seat”, the technology is not affected by leaks or changing of refrigerants.

Safe and effective technology

TRI-S has been in business for more than 25 years. Over that time, the Tri-S products have been tested safe and effective by top laboratories.

All TRI-S products are made in the USA using chemicals that occur abundantly in our environment and that are naturally safe for humans. Should a spill occur during the installation process, clean-up procedures are the same as for refrigerant oil as outlined in the TRI-S Material Safety Data Sheet (available upon request). All TRI-S products meet or surpass HVAC/R compatibility standards with all prevalent refrigerants and refrigerant lubricants on the market as of 31 December 2022.

All TRI-S products are manufactured in America under current International Organization for Standards (ISO) guidelines for repeatable quality. Following these stringent standards protects against defects or causing any type of adverse reactions within HVAC/R/HP systems.

Critical Specialized Testing Performed on the Technology

The ARI / ASHRAE four ball bearing test is designed to find the point at which a lubricant or surface science breaks down. During the test, downward pressure is applied to four ball bearings that are in motion until the bearings weld from friction. This test is important because it shows the superiority of the TRI-S product as a lubrication aid that drives performance improvements. In the Texas Oil Tech study performed on our products, within minutes of coating the metal ball bearings, the TRI-S product provided exponentially better lubricity than standard refrigerant oil – 4,900% to be exact. Better lubrication by sealing and protecting the metal surface and enhancing thermal transfer extends the life of equipment.

Validating Effectiveness Of The Solution

The IPMVP directs the measurement of four (4) key parameters of an HVAC/R/HP unit, while taking care to try and replicate as close as possible the outdoor air and internal return air temperatures directly at the unit in both the baseline and post periods.

Larger units also need to be measured with the same number of compressors running at the same load % (if the unit has variable speed compressors).

The 4 measurements include:

  • Power readings (volts and amps)
  • Air volume across the coils as measured in cubic feet per minute (CFM)
  • Dry bulb delta between supply and return air temperatures (Delta-T) measured at the same point in baseline and post
  • Enthalpy delta using difference between wet bulb readings of supply and return air temperatures baseline and post

TRI-S can arrange to do the installations, or we can train / certify company technicians to do them. DX systems are dosed and treated based on tonnage. TRI-S always maintains an inventory capable of treating more than 50,000 tons of cooling equipment. Since all the chemicals used in our patented formulations are readily available in America, supply chain problems are not an issue. We can exponentially expand our inventory in 3-4 weeks if necessary. CRYOGENX4 is guaranteed to produce rapid results by treating the inside of the cooling systems. However, to maintain those results over time, regular preventative maintenance needs to be performed on the equipment to keep it operating properly on the outside.
